Rooted in waves of history, Sake Sake is an exciting ever-evolving sip of one of Japan's culturally rich brews.
SAKE SAKE takes you on a rolling journey through the ancient to the present-day, a shimmering wave of flavour that combines thousands of years of history with a modernist sensibility.
The philosophy of sake tasting is called go-mi, or The Five-Flavors. Balancing karami (dryness), nigami (bitterness), shibumi (tartness), amami (sweetness) and sanmi (acidity), the ideology derives from the ancient Chinese — who believed consuming all five flavours ensures development of the five senses and five types of internal energy.
Our sake is balanced, tantalising and smooth as liquid silver. It pairs perfectly with sushi, ceviche or even a burger after a long day at the beach. With fabulous and accessible floral notes, you can try a dash of yuzu and soda to enhance its natural effervescence or enjoy it in our favourite way — ice cold and undiluted.
Japanese culture is typified by kodawari, a word without direct translation in English, the uncompromising pursuit of perfection in one’s art or craft. We reach for kodawari on two levels; in the creation of our SAKE SAKE itself — and the enjoyment of it.
In our quest for excellence, we partnered with the world-renowned Sekiya Brewery to bring you SAKE SAKE’s Junmai. Established in 1864, the brewery is situated 500 meters above sea level, high up in the mountains of the Aichi Prefecture. The source of water is some of the softest and most pure in Japan. With this simplest of raw materials, combined with over 150 years of experience in sake brewing, SAKE SAKE aims to bring you the best sake that you have ever tasted.
But kodawari is more than just perfectionism. It’s not an outward or boastful pleasure. It is the joy of being alone and knowing you tried your best. It is the easy fulfilment of a job well done. For this reason, we encourage you to try SAKE SAKE in a variety of settings or paired with any cuisine. We’re always discovering new ways to enjoy sake and unlock its subtle beauties.
Our founders are dedicated to sharing their passionate love of Japanese culture by bringing you a delicious, fresh, and approachable sake to be sipped on any occasion. Clean. Gluten-free. Additive-free. Preservative-free. Three ingredients; rice, water, and koji rice. Steeped in 2500 years of tradition, SAKE SAKE is an exhilarating homage to the land from which sake originates.
